Troubleshooting the Pump System

If you are having problems with the operation of the Spring Zone Insulin Delivery System, please perform these basic steps before contacting Technical Support:

PLEASE CHECK THE FOLLOWING
1) Insertion site for:
  • Inflammation
  • Irritation
  • Painful to touch
  • Blood in tubing or around the cannula

2) Tubing:
  • Blood or air in the tubing
  • Leakage
  • Improper connection to base

3) Pump:
  • Incorrect basal rate
  • When was last bolus given?
  • Incorrect clock time

IMMEDIATELY REPLACE THE INFUSION SET in cases of:
  • An inexplicably high blood glucose level and presence of ketones
  • High blood glucose after a correction bolus
  • Itching, swelling, pain, or redness at insertion site
  • Hardness developing around insertion site
  • Blood or tissue fluid flowing back into the tubing
  • Cracks or holes appearing in the infusion set
  • Occlusion alarm sounded

Perform priming again, allowing more time for the system to complete the internal tests.

Priming was stopped before the system completed internal tests.

The Alert sign icon does not disappear after performing a prime.

Perform priming.

If the problem persists, replace and fill the Spring Exclusive and perform priming again.

There is a problem with the cartridge.

The Alert sign icon appears in the Suspended screen and you cannot resume insulin delivery.

Adjust the time and date.

Time and date are not set correctly.

Insulin is delivered at the wrong time.

Perform priming If the problem persists, replace and fill the Spring Exclusive and perform priming again.

Spring Exclusive is defective or not inserted properly

The pump activating the alarm and “Malfunction “ Alert appears on display

Lift the cartridge cover release lever and return it to its position, Perform priming If the problem persists, replace and fill the Spring Exclusive and perform priming again.

Problem with the cartridge positioning.

The “open close lever” alarm appears while performing prime.
